Have you heard of this? YouTube will start using AI to determine if you're over or under 18 in America, and will "apply their age-appropriate experiences and protections" if this CLANKER, HUNK OF JUNK MACHINE, BOLT MUNCHING AI thinks that you watch content that a teenager or a younger child would watch (BIG DEAL?!).
Surely, they've never tried this before. No cesspool known as "Youtube Kids", right? Surely it's gonna go just fine.
This TRILLION DOLLAR corporation does NOT need more information. And AI?? Really? AN AI IS NOT CAPABLE OF CRITICAL THINKING. IT IS NOT SAPIENT! How could ANYONE trust an AI on this? And if you're to not be treated as an INFANT, you "have the option to verify that you're over 18, using a credit card or government ID". You have to use your GOVERNMENT ID? What kind of HAG wrote this?
The government is NOT a parent. Parents have FULL responsibility over their children's internet usage. This should NOT EVER go to the government.
What even could be eventually counted as restricted content? Sure, there might be vague limits, but those can and WILL change in the interests of those RUNNING this! This is dangerous, and a breach of privacy and free speech.
This isn't just in the U.S. too. There are similar movements in the UK and Australia, and even Canada. The people who are directly affected by this should have a voice.
